Ashwini Waskar - India's First Competitive Female Bodybuilder

A simple woman from Raigad, Maharashtra completed her post graduation in fisheries and then went to Mumbai in 2012 to become a senior research chap in fisheries. There she joined a gym to remain fit as she was gaining weight. But she got really interested in the techniques used by male to build up their body. She followed the same routines and became really strong. In 2013 she heard about national female bodybuilding championship. She then returned to her home town and decided to participate in the national event. She then joined a local gym and the gym trainer Angad was shocked to see her performing the same routine which men use to perform. She supported her and asked her to go for bodybuilding. Even her family supported her. Her family was really worried in the beginning when they heard about short clothes to be worn during the championship.
