Whether you are into athletics or not,
and even if you know sport or not, there are complete chances that you know
about Usain Bolt. The fastest man on the planet not just now but since forever.
Usain has won the hearts of people everywhere with his mind blowing
performances and his charisma, uniting supporters around the world. His story
starts from a humble beginning in Jamaica, to international stardom at Beijing
and to the new levels of superstardom he has reached since lightning up London
2012. Full of charm and charisma that has made him the most popular sports man
of our time and a universal celebrity. Going on to his basic details he is a
Jamaican sprinter and is the first
man to hold both 100 and 200 meters world record,
he also set the world record in 4x100 meters relay. Bolt is the first person to
get 6 Olympic gold medals in sprinting and 8 time world champion.
He completed
a hat trick of 200 m world titles by winning his third straight gold. Bolts
achievements have earned him the title of” the lightning bolt” and awards like
IAAF WORLD ATHLETE OF THE YEAR , TRACK
AND FIELD ATHLETE OF THE YEAR and LAUREUS WORLD SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR ( 3 times ) . He is also the highest paid athlete in track and
field and also called the world’s most marketable athlete. He is also the most
famous athlete in the history of the game till now. But unfortunately we will
not be able to see more of him after the 2017 world championship in London as
he announced his retirement. Usain has emerged from a small town in Jamaica; he
was born on 21st August 1986 in Sherwood Content, Jamaica and grew
up with his parents and 2 siblings. His parents ran the local grocery store in
the rural area, he mostly spent time playing cricket and football with his
brother. He attended Waldensia primary where he first began to show his
sprinting talent. He made his first appearance on the world stage at the 2001
IAAF WORLD YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP in Debrecen, Hungary. Here he failed to qualify for
the finals but he still set a new personal best. Usain Bolt is one of the eight players to win
world championships at youth, junior and senior levels of an event. Misfortune
awaited Bolt as he got injured in the 2005 world championships in Helsinki; he
was also involved in a car accident in November which distrusted his training
schedules. The 2007 world championship inspired bolt to run and hence he took a
more serious stance towards his career. In his personal life Usain expresses a love
for dancing and he is really laid back and relaxed as a person. Bolt is a
catholic by religion and is known for making signs of cross before any
competition. Bolt also expressed his fondness for cricket and said he would
have been a fast bowler if not a sprinter. His life is just inspirational and
hence motivates a lot of young rising talents to establish their names just as
Usain Bolt, he is truly a role model for the young souls.
